CUSCO HALF DAY TOURCUSCO CATHEDRAL – Q’ORICANCHA – SACSAYHUAMAN – Q’ENQO – PUCAPUCARA –TAMBOMACHAY

In this tour that we will make through the city of Cusco and its surroundings, we will have the opportunity to visit archaeological sites of great importance such as the temple of the sun Q’oricancha, Q’enqo, Pucapucara, Tambomachay, Sacsayhuaman, the cathedral of Cusco, to be able to contemplate the architectural wonders, know its history and culture.

We will pick you up from the hotel in the morning at 8:30 am and we will begin our tour of the city, first we will visit the temple of the sun which is also called Q’oricancha, we will take a brief tour of this site observing the architectural marvel and knowing a little of its history, then we will go to visit the cathedral basilica of Cusco, an architectural monument made during the colonial era with a lot of history where works of art from the Cusco school of important authors are housed, after finishing this visit to the cathedral we We will go to the next destination.

then we will take our transport to go to our next stop which is Sacsayhuaman, known by many visitors as a fortress but in reality in Inca times it had other specific functions, there we can see megalithic constructions with large stone blocks that cause admiration to the visitors and the same way as it has been designed, after this guided visit we will go to see Q’uenqo place where there is an amphitheater with several niches and in the middle of it there is a stone sculpture that was a representation of a sacred deity (puma), according to archaeological studies these niches that can be seen there were enclosures where the mummies were kept more important of the leaders in the time of the Incas, but upon the arrival of the Spaniards they were destroyed, almost completely erasing the evidence that was in place.

Then we will go to Pucapucara, another archaeological site that for many experts was a place of rest for travelers of the time, but for some experts it is a military fortress because it is located near Tambomachay, a place where there are water sources that apparently were a liturgical enclosure to celebrate ceremonies to the vital element of water, that is to say that it was a temple dedicated to this vital liquid, finally this Tambomachay enclosure is visited and after this guided tour we will take our transport to return to Cusco.
