This trip takes about 1 hour and it is really beautiful. You will discover immense snow-capped mountains, vast cornfields, and beautiful villages. Finally, you will reach the fascinating circular terraces of Moray. The size of the terraces is really impressive! Although it looks like an amphitheater, this mysterious circular place is a gigantic Inca agricultural laboratory.

Once you are done exploring Moray, we will head to the Maras Salt Mines, which are approximately 3 km away. This place is famous for its salt production dating back to ancient times. There are more than 3,000 salt wells that are filled daily with groundwater. You will have a surreal landscape at your disposal to take the best pictures. On our way back we will stop at the beautiful Laguna Huaypo. Another great place to take photos! Before You Go:

How many days do I need to acclimate in Cusco before the Trek?

It is very important to be well acclimatized to the altitude before pushing yourself on a hike. We recommend that you arrive in Cusco at least two to three days before the trek begins to help you adjust and avoid possible problems with altitude sickness during the trek. You may have already been to another area of Peru at high altitudes before arriving in Cusco. In that case, we recommend that you have a full day in Cusco to rest, recover from your trip, and enjoy the sights and sounds of Cusco before leaving for the trek. Here are some suggestions of activities to do in the vicinity of Cusco before starting your adventure trip:

  • City Tour
  • Sacred Valley
  • Rainbow Mountain
