Even in the morning, herds of llamas and alpacas will entertain you as we pass by in the direction of the starting point. Once we have reached the starting point of the trek, there we will go along a winding path in the middle of the Andean mountains following a beautiful stream. As we go uphill we will see snowy mountains and a spectacular view of the rainbow mountain.

Around this natural wonder there are some communities which is home of many farmers who are dedicated to the production of potatoes and also to the raising of llamas and alpacas and surely you will also be surprised to see the traditional clothing they use, they are garments that they have made themselves thanks to the practice of textile art that they have inherited from their ancestors from generation to generation. In this way, ancient culture is preserved and refuses to submit to the rules of the Western world.

Your guide will teach you and explain the meaning of the design of some garments and will also explain a little about the experience of them. After two or three hours of walking, we will arrive at the incredible Winincunca mountain or rainbow mountain of Cusco (5,000 masl / 16,404 fasl). How many days do I need to acclimate in Cusco before the Trek?

It is very important to be well acclimatized to the altitude before pushing yourself on a hike. We recommend that you arrive in Cusco at least two to three days before the trek begins to help you adjust and avoid possible problems with altitude sickness during the trek. You may have already been to another area of Peru at high altitudes before arriving in Cusco. In that case, we recommend that you have a full day in Cusco to rest, recover from your trip, and enjoy the sights and sounds of Cusco before leaving for the trek. Here are some suggestions of activities to do in the vicinity of Cusco before starting your adventure trip:
