EPIC TREK THROUGH THE SACRED MOUNTAINS OF THE INCAS
Apu ausangate is the Quechua name of this impressive snow-capped mountain located south of Cusco with (6388 masl / 20.958 ft.) meters above sea level. Considered the highest mountain in the Vilcanota mountain range.
For the Andean man this mountain is sacred, considered a deity, a guardian since time immemorial, even today they venerate it offering coca leaves in gratitude for being their guardian and protector of these towns, that is why they call it Apu Ausangate.

DESCRIPTION
This epic trek through the sacred mountain of Ausangate is a trek that is more than 70km (43,496 miles) away which combines three treks in one, such as: The Ausangate trek, the rainbow mountain and the 7-lake trek in one tour which lasts six days.
This epic Ausangate trek gives you the opportunity to test your physical and emotional condition during these six days of trekking through valleys, mountains, passes that exceed 5000 meters of altitude (16.40 feet) and the climatic condition very typical of the you walk mountainous but it is also an opportunity to enjoy the tranquility of the environment, admire the natural beauty that Mother Nature offers us, the flora and fauna and have unique moments in life and an unforgettable experience that only you can experience while in these mountains.
In the morning we will pick you up from the hotel at 4:00 am to travel in our private transport for three hours and head south until we reach the town of urcos and then we will continue along the interoceanic highway, towards the town of tinky el starting point of our walk, once we reach the town of tinky (3700 masl / 12,139 ft.) our cook will prepare our breakfast, after enjoying this breakfast we will start with the walk towards upis (4,426 masl / 14,521 ft.) which It will be our first camp, after about three or four hours of walking we will arrive at upis where we will have lunch and camp, after a delicious lunch we will have time for a nap and then after the siesta we have the option of going to huayna ausangate where it is possible to observe a lagoon which is located at the foot of the majestic Ausangate snow-capped mountain, in the afternoon you also have the option of enjoying the thermal baths It is upis which is also optional and at the end of the day in the afternoon we will have our tea time followed by a comforting dinner and then go to sleep under a starry night.

After our breakfast in the open air in upis (4,426 masl / 14,521 ft.) at the foot of the snowy Ausangate we will start our walk with a two-hour ascent and we will cross the Arapa pass (4,750 meters / 15,908 ft.), this being one of the high points in the hike on the second day. From here, we continue two hours descending through the valley, and we arrive at yanaQocha, where we will have lunch, after this delicious lunch we will go to our next camp, along the way we will see lagoons with turquoise waters and of course always accompanied by the ausangate guardian, finally After another two hours of walking we will arrive at our Jatun Puqa Q’ocha camp (4613 masl /15.134 ft.) where we will spend the second night.

After a healthy nutritious breakfast and with an impressive view of the snow-capped mountains, lagoons and a blue sky, we begin the walk with an ascent of one to two hours to the Pucacocha pass (4,906 masl / 16,095 ft.) from where we can see the great Apu Ausangate and at the foot of it some of the lagoons such as YanaQocha, Uchuy PucaQocha and Jatun PucaQocha. Likewise, we will have enough time there to take many pictures of the place.
After enjoying the view of the place we will begin to gradually descend for two hours towards Anantapata (4,697 masl / 15,410 ft.) which will be the place of our lunch, after a comforting lunch we will begin with a two hour ascent until we reach the second pass warmisaya (4,984 masl / 16,351 ft.) from where we can already visualize the famous rainbow mountain and the natural beauty of the Andes, after contemplating for a long time the natural beauty of the place we continue with a descent of one hour until we reach our next Soroni camp (4,791 masl / 15,718 ft.) which is located near a lagoon where there are some birds typical of the place.

Walking time: 4 to 5 hours.

On this day we will wake up early to go visit the famous rainbow mountain and be the first before the crowd of people arrives at the place.
We will leave our camp early and we will hike for about an hour and finally we will arrive at the rainbow mountain where we will have the opportunity to appreciate the wonderful view of this natural wonder, we will be enjoying and taking pictures of the place for about an hour and then we will continue with our walk towards Anatapata for two hours, where we will have our lunch.
After enjoying our delicious lunch we will continue walking for another four hours until we reach our camp in Ausangate Cocha where we will spend the night at the foot of the great Apu Ausangate.

Walking time: 9 hours.
Difficulty level: Moderate.
This day will be a very important day because after a few days of acclimatization, we will test our physical and mental condition to reach the highest point of the entire trek, the Palomani pass, which is located at 5,200 meters above sea level. We will get up with a lot of conviction and enjoy a delicious breakfast. Today the victory will be ours and we will feel it when we reach our goal.
We will ascend for about two hours until we reach the Palomani Pass (5,200 m / 17,060 ft), where we will have the most extensive view of the Vilcanota mountain range. After a short rest appreciating the most impressive views, we will descend for an hour and a half to the community of Huchuy Phinaya (4,700 m / 15,420 ft) and we will have lunch.
After a delicious lunch we will have a gradual ascent of two hours through the beautiful ravine surrounded by immense glaciers of the Callangate chain until we reach the last camp in Sorapata (4,650 m / 15,256 ft.). Upon our return the camp will be ready. After savoring an exquisite dinner, a peaceful night awaits you in the tranquility of the mountains.

Difficulty level: CHALLENGING.
waking up in the morning we will have an impressive view of the snow-capped Tres Picos. Then we will have breakfast and prepare for one last ascent. It will take us two and a half hours to reach Paso Campa (5,070 m / 16,634 ft), a wide and green valley, perfect for the Andean man who dedicates himself to grazing his animals and a little agriculture. This will also be a good time to capture the beauty of the environment that Mother Nature offers us.
Upon reaching the Campa pass (5,070 m / 16,634 ft), we will stop for a moment to appreciate the beauty of the place and the environment and then we will begin to descend for about three hours to Pacchanta (4,100 m / 13,451 ft). In this last section we will be able to appreciate the beautiful succession of lakes highly appreciated by the Andean man. This last part is also called the 7 lagoons, a place where many people leave their small offerings of coca leaves in gratitude to the sacred mountains and Mother Earth for allowing us to get here.
Hours later we will go to Pacchanta, a small community with attractive hot springs, where we will enjoy a bath, ideal to relax our muscles. Here we will also have lunch. Later we will say goodbye to our support staff who accompanied us on this trip and we will undertake a two and a half hour trip back to Cusco, thus culminating this incredible 6-day adventure.

It is very important to be well acclimatized to the altitude before pushing yourself on a hike. We recommend that you arrive in Cusco at least two to three days before the trek begins to help you adjust and avoid possible problems with altitude sickness during the trek. You may have already been to another area of Peru at high altitudes before arriving in Cusco. In that case, we recommend that you have a full day in Cusco to rest, recover from your trip, and enjoy the sights and sounds of Cusco before leaving for the trek. Here are some suggestions of activities to do in the vicinity of Cusco before starting your adventure trip:
All meetings and briefings are very important, which takes place at our office or at your hotel at 5:00 p.m. one night before the tour starts. These meetings last approximately 30 to 45 minutes. If for any reason you cannot attend our informative meeting, you must contact Ausangate Explore by email or by Whatsapp.
The hike must be paid in full. one day before your departure (usually after the briefing). It would be greatly appreciated if you pay the balance of the trek in cash in US dollars or local currency at our Office. You can pay by credit card or PAYPAL online, but you will have to pay a 5% service charge, charged by VISA and PAYPAL. We do not accept bank checks or payment of the balance in traveler’s checks.
Strikes and demonstrations are common in Peru, and this can interrupt some of our tours. Roads can be blocked and railway tracks can be taken. However, we will try to make your trip as smooth as possible. originally planned, even if it means going out the night before the scheduled date. under these circumstances, tours may also be cancelled.
